obtained to carry out the measures in the houses necessary to
discourage the entry of the crickets, this man working under the
control of the Public Health Department. (These duties had been
previously undertaken by the workman loaned to the Public Health
Department by the Surveyor's Department.)
"At the moment 96 houses are being visited and being supplied
with pyrethrum powder, 20 of these being regularly sprayed inside
in addition. The fences surrounding the dump have also been
sprayed and numbers of crickets have been killed at these points.
It is also interesting to note that residents in Barrowell Green

pyrethrum powder, while the wages of the unemployed man amount
to £2—£2 10s. Od. per week"
