SANITARY INSPECTION OF AREA.
The number of inspections carried out during 1935 again
shows an increase over those of previous years, being a record for
the district. This was to be anticipated when it is remembered
that the services of an additional Sanitary Inspector were obtained
during the year. The visits paid by the Health Visitor for Public
Health purposes and the workman whose services were obtained
from the Surveyor's Department are also included in the total.
Following the appointment of the new Sanitary Inspector in
April, 1935, the sanitary districts of the Borough were reorganised,
the district being split into three instead of two, as hitherto. I
would like to take this opportunity of expressing my appreciation
of the work of the Sanitary Inspectors throughout the year, an
appreciation which includes the services rendered by Mr. Gooday,
the most recent addition to the staff. This appreciation is not in
respect of the number of visits paid, which may mean much or
little, but rather by reason of the quality of the work performed.
