RENT RESTRICTION ACT.
Under the provisions of litis Act, the tenant of a house may,
on payment of the fee of one shilling, obtain from the Sanitary
Authority an inspection and report upon the condition of his
house, in cases where the landlord has given the tenant notice of
intention to increase the rent. This adds yet another responsibility
to the Public Health Department and its officers.
During the year a total of fifty inspections under its provisions
