The Council have suggested that the County Council
should endeavour to obtain concerted action in this matter by
all local authorities in the county, and, failing this, that the
work should be undertaken by the County Council.
Bakehouses.—These have been inspected.
Slaughter-houses.—There are eight slaughter-houses
in the District.
Several of these slaughter-houses, as mentioned in my
last Annual Report, are in unsuitable positions owing to their
close proximity to dwelling-houses.
Frequent visits have been paid to them, and they have
been kept in a satisfactory condition so far as cleanliness is
concerned.
