Small Pox Hospital.
This Hospital is situated at Yeading.
Methods of Disinfection.
(1) House Disinfection.—Walls are sprayed with five
per cent. Lysoform with the Invicta Sprayer. The rooms
are then sealed up and fumigated with Formalin in the
Alformant lamp (25 tablets per 1,000 cubic feet). After 12
hours the rooms are opened and washed down with
Carbolic Lotion.
Disinfection is carried out after Tuberculosis, Measles,
Whooping Cough, Chicken Pox, and other cases at a
small charge per room (no charge is made in cases of
poor people unable to pay this fee).
(2) Clothing, bedding, etc., are disinfected in the
Steam Disinfector at the Isolation Hospital. A covered
van is sent for the infected articles, and another light van
is used to return the articles when disinfected.
Cowsheds and Milk Shops.
The Model Regulations issued by the Local Government
Board are in force in the District. There are 17
Cowsheds and 5 Dairies on the register.
The Colne Valley Water is laid on to all Cowsheds
and Dairies except one, and in this one case there is an
excellent supply of water from a deep well.
