Small Pox.—No case of this disease was notified during the year.
Scarlet Fever.—96 cases were notified. This disease unusually
prevalent in the neighbourhood of London during the past few years,
has been much less so in this district than in the previous two
years, the degree in which it has occurred in the various parishes
of the district being as under :—
Dagenham 36
Hornchurch 30
Havering 1
Upminster, Cranham, and Corbets Tey 11
Great Warley 4
Rainham and Wennington 14
Total 96
N.B.—The number of cases in the parish of Hornchurch comprises
those occurring in the North-West part of the parish, forming
practically part of the town of Romford. Hornchurch itself and the
immediate neighbourhood being unusually free from this disease.
Enteric Fever.—No case of this disease occurred in the district
during the year.

Diphtheria.—42 cases were notified, in the different parishes as under :—

The same remarks as to the comparative immunity of Hornchurch
from this disease during the year apply as in the case of Scarlet
Fever.
Infantile Diarrhœa. was, as in the previous year, unusually absent
during 1909.
