Many sanitary improvements have been effected in the district
during the past year. Good roads have been made in various parts of
the district recently developed into residential localities (Emerson
Park especially) are being put in hand. A complete system of sewerage
has been adopted for Rainham and the very extensire area of most of
the Parish of Dagenham—both of which have been unavoidably
delayed to the disappointment of the Council, by unavoidable
difficulties. The Rainham sewerage system is well advanced in
construction, and the Dagenham system is now also in hand.
