4. CLEAN AIR ACT, 1956
(a) Smoke Control Areas
The Council have adopted the Building Byelaw, referred to in
Section 24 of the Act, requiring the installation of approved heating
and cooking appliances, capable of burning smokeless fuels, in
all new buildings.
The Council have decided to establish Smoke Control Areas in
the Borough and have approved a plan for dealing with the whole
borough extending over a period of approximately ten years.
