Staff Medical Examinations
490 medical examinations were carried out by Local Authority
Medical Staff during 1962.
Charges
The Health Services for which Local Authorities are responsible
are in the main provided free to the user, but Local Health Authorities
have powers to make charges for the use of some services, for
example, Day Nursery care, in respect of Recuperative Holidays,
and for Domestic Help. A standard scale of charges is fixed which
can be varied in accordance with the means of the persons
concerned.
Health Visiting
The year 1962 was an important one in the annals of Healt
Visiting, as it was just one hundred years ago that the first organised
