4. Housing Act, 1936, Part IV—Overcrowding
(a) (1) Number of dwellings overcrowded at end of year 43

5. Housing Repairs and Rents Act, 1954.
During the year 16 applications were received for Certificates o(
Disrepair under the above Act, and 16 Certificates were issued, maidng
a total of 102 Certificates issued since October 1954.
Eight applications were also received for the Revocation of Certificates,
and in 8 cases the Certificates were revoked when the repairs had
been completed satisfactorily.
5. PREVALENCE OF AND CONTROL OVER,
INFECTIOUS AND OTHER DISEASES
(i) Notifiable Diseases
According to custom, I have not recorded those notifications where
the diagnosis has been altered after a period of observation, or after
investigation. Where, however, the amended diagnosis has proved to
be another type of infection which is notifiable, the case has been
appropriately recorded. These amendments are sent to the RegisterGeneral
at the end of each quarter.
