various purposes under the Act during the year.

(ix) The Heating Appliances (Fireguards) Act, 1952.
116 premises have been visited where heating appliances were
exposed for sale and advice has been given to persons responsible. As
a result of these visits, 7 appliances were found not to conform with
the standards prescribed, and these were immediately withdrawn from
sale and scrapped.
