Lollies
One sample of ice loliy was found to contain an excess amount of
lead, viz. 3.0 parts per million.
This was referred to the local authority in whose area the lolly was
manufactured.
Luncheon Meat
This tin of luncheon meat was submitted to the Analyst as the
result of a complaint. The contents and tin were badly corroded owing
to prolonged storage. No action was taken as the complainant had had
the tin in stock at home for some time.
Milk, Dried Skimmed
A sample of dried milk powder was found to contain a considerable
amount of black specks, this was found to be charred milk powder.
The manufacturers withdrew the consignment, from which the sample
was taken, from stock.
