(viii) The Heating Appliances (Fireguards) Act, 1952
153 premises have been visited where heating appliances were
exposed for sale, and advice has been given on the requirements of
the Act to persons responsible. As a result of these visits, 60
appliances were found not to conform with the standards prescribed.
In one instance, the Council authorised legal proceedings.
