This, however, does not give a complete record, as children,
as a general rule, do not complete inoculation earlier than their first
birthday. By allowing for this, the percentage of children immunised
between one and five years of age is raised to 58.
Table 15 gives the statistics since the inauguration of the
scheme in Romford in 1935, till the end of 1951.

(d) Dysentery.
Eighteen cases were notified as belonging to Romford, and all
were due to Shigella Sonnei.
(e) Food Poisoning.
During the year 29 cases were notified, which proved to be
suffering from food poisoning. In addition, 133 notified cases were
investigated, but were proved not to be suffering from this
condition.

Ministry of Health.

One outbreak, which occurred in a school is summarised below :
On the 10th January, the Headmaster of School A drew my
attention to the absence of a number of children on that day, suffering
from abdominal pain, sickness, and diarrhoea. I made
