(iv) Food Products in General.
Byelaws relating to the handling, wrapping, and delivery of
food and sale of food in the open air, based on the Model Byelaws
of the Ministry of Food, received the confirmation of the Minister
of Food on the '26th June, 1950, and came into operation on the 31st
July, 1950. This should go a long way towards helping the cleanliness
of food in general, and action is being taken accordingly.
At the end of August, the Health Departments of this area, the
Borough of Dagenham, and the Urban District of Hornchurch took
advantage of a Three Town's Show to demonstrate propaganda
relating to the cleanliness of food, and this appeared to be well
received by the public during the two days of the exhibition.
