Once again particular attention was given to the supervision
of foster mothers in the area, and, as an additional safeguard, it is
now a requirement that a prospective foster mother must give 2
satisfactory references before she can be approved. It has further
been arranged that the lady members of the Maternity and Child
Welfare Committee be supplied with the names of foster mothers,
so that they can supplement the work of the Health Visitors.
