29 of these cases were removed to the Isolation Hospital.
Of these some were of a very severe character, four terminating
fatally.
Enteric Fever.—Three cases of this disease were notified,
one contracted away from the district, one removed from the
Union Workhouse, where it had been admitted from another
part of the Romford Union, and one contracted from a previous
case in the same house, and which had not been recognized,
None were fatal.
Measles prevailed to a fairly considerable extent, in the early
part of the year, but only one death was caused by this disease.
Disease of this type (zymotic disease) caused 7 deaths,
as shown in the annexed table. The death-rate from this class
of disease was 0.4: per 1,000.

The death-rate from this class of disease for the past five
years has been 0.2, 0.4, 0.4, 0.7, 0.4.

diseases notified during the year, 105 of which were removed
to the Isolation Hospital.
