for the year 1961
Town Hall,
Anerley Road, S.E.20.
10th August, 1962.
To the Chairman and Members of the Urban District Council of Penge.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I desire to present my Annual Report for the year ended 31st December,
1961, in which is set out the work of the Public Health Inspectors.
Slum Clearance has again occupied a prominent place in the work of the
Department during the year.
The work in connection with the Clean Air Act, 1956, has continued; a
survey of the proposed second smokeless zone was commenced during the year.
Complaints, excluding those dealing with mice and rat infestation, numbered
502, and the majority were of housing defects and nuisances.
All complaints were investigated and appropriate action taken where
necessary.
