PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER, INFECTIOUS AND OTHER
DISEASES.
Diphtheria.
No cases of Diphtheria occurred in the district during the year.
Diphtheria Immunisation.
The following table gives the attendances, etc., up to 5th July, 1948 :-

Scarlet Fever.
There were 24 cases of Scarlet Fever notified (as against 20 in 1947) and
17 were removed to Hospital.
The disease generally was of a mild type. There were no deaths and no
“return” cases.
Scabies and Verminous Heads.
The directions contained in the Ministry of Health Circular 2831 were
carried out.
Facilities were provided at the School Clinic for the treatment of scabies
and cleansing of verminous heads.
Disinfection.
