Sessions for the rouutine medical inspection of the children
were held fortnightly.
Maternity Hospital.
During the year, 84 Penge cases were admitted to the Penge and
Beckenham Joint Maternity Hospital, Stone Park Avenue, Beckenham.
The Hospital was closed between the 1st September and the 15th
December, the staff being evacuated to North Wales between those
dates.

The average period spent in the hospital during the year by each
patient was 14.1 days.
Maternity cases sent to the County Hospital, Parnborough, Kent,
through the Council's Ante-Natal Clinic totalled 47 and 39 patients
were evacuated under the London County Council's scheme for
Expectant Mothers.

Health Visiting.

Three Health Visitors and School Nurses were employed and the following shows the number of visits paid, in connection with maternity and child welfare and tuberculosis.
