INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
Milk Supply.
At the end of the year there were 9 premises registered as
dairies. Periodical inspections have been made and in two
instances defects were discovered. These were remedied after
informal action.
In addition, 49 persons were registered to sell milk in
sealed containers only. Sixteen dairymen, with dairies outside
the district, who sell milk in Penge, are also registered. There
are no cowsheds in the district.
The analyses of 66 informal samples obtained during the
year show the following average:—
Fat 3.56%
Solids not fat 8.75%
