Cases of accident and sudden illness in the street are
attended free of charge, and other cases removed as wished,
according to a fixed scale.
During the year the Council's motor ambulance responded
to 653 calls : 353 for private removals and 300 for accidents.
There is a co-ordination scheme between the ambulance
services of Penge, Beckenham and Bromley, which works
satisfactorily.
Nursing at Home.
There are no changes or developments to report under
this heading.
Clinics and Treatment Centres.
The Maternity and Child Welfare Centre, provided by
the Council, is held, as before, at the Council's School Clinic,
17, Oakfield Road, on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons,
and the Medical Officer of Health, who is the Medical Officer
for the Centre, attends on Wednesday afternoons for consultations.
He is also available for special consultations at the
Town Hall.
In addition, a special Ante-Natal Clinic, attended by the
Medical Officer of Health, is held fortnightly.
