disease that occur in the homes of children attending school.
Attendance from infected houses is prohibited for certain
periods.
Prevalence of, and Control over, Infectious
Diseases.
(Infections Diseases generally.)
In 1921 there was a moderate outbreak of mild Scarlet
Fever. No mortality.
In 1922 Diphtheria was above the average ; half the
number of cases coming from a large Poor Law Institution
in the District.
Diphtheria Antitoxin is provided for prompt distribution
on application by Medical Practitioners.
Encephalitis Lethargica, 8 cases in 5 years.
" Return cases " very rare.
Pneumonia, rather prevalent; average for 5 years—
21 cases per annum.
Schick and Dick tests have not been used.
Cases of Measles are notified to me from the Schools,
and duly visited.
