There have been 18 inquests held in Penge during the year 1921, as follows:—

Of the above, two unknown female newly-born children
were found dead at the Crystal Palace Low Level
Station.
BIRTH RATE.
The births registered during the year numbered 564
of which 288 were males, and 276 females. This gives a
birth rate of 21.3 per 1000, compared with 27.5 for 1920.
NOTIFICATION OF BIRTHS ACT.
This Act is complied with satisfactorily both by Doctors
and Midwives, and little disparity is found between the
list of births supplied to me by the Registrar of Births and
Deaths and the actual Notifications received.
