HOUSING, TOWN PLANNING, &c., ACT.
During the year 160 houses have been inspected, in accordance with the Housing (Inspection of District) Regulations, 1910, in the following roads :—

Notices to remedy the defects were served under the
Public Health Acts. All the houses inspected, were occupied.
In addition to the above, four houses were inspected
and notices served under Section 28 of the Housing and Town
Planning Act, 1919, to put the premises into a reasonably fit
state for habitation, and in each case, owing to the default of
the owner, the work was carried out by the Council, and the
cost charged to the owners.
No Closing Order was made during the year.
Considering the high cost of material and the
economic conditions prevailing, it is gratifying to report that
a large amount of work has been executed,
