The position at the 31st December, 1962, with regard to statutory
overcrowding as defined in the Housing Act, 1936, is as follows: —
(a) number of dwellings overcrowded at the end of the year 292
(b) number of new cases of overcrowding reported during 1962 Nil
(c) number of cases of overcrowding relieved 60

of which local authority have taken steps for the abatement

Common Lodging Houses.
There is only one registered common lodging house within the
area. This is situated at the junction of Poverest Road and Cray
Avenue and its life is probably limited by proposals for re-development
in the area.
Renewal of registration at the end of the year was recommended
on the condition that essential repairs, renewals and improvements
were carried out.
