Prevention of Damage by Pests Act, 1949.
The number of inspections and treatments carried out was as
follows :

In addition, the Council's sewers were test-baited early in the
year to ascertain the areas of infestation and this was followed up
by treatment with poison bait in February and September. The
degree of infestation was found to be negligible.
Rag Flock and Other Filling Materials Act, 1951.
This Act is designed to secure the use of clean filling materials
in upholstered articles and other articles which are stuffed or lined,
or for purposes connected therewith.
No contraventions were found under this Act during 1960.
Rivers, Streams and Lakes.
Since 1950, the Kent Rivers Board has been responsible for the
supervision of the two rivers in this area, i.e. the Cray and the
Kydbrook.
