Prevention of Damage by Pests Act, 1949.
The number of inspections and treatments carried out was
maintained at approximately the same level as last year.

In addition the Council's sewers were test-baited in the year to
ascertain the areas of infestation and this was followed up by
treatment with poison bait in February and June.
Rag Flock and Other Filling Materials Act, 1951.
This Act is designed to secure the use of clean filling materials
in upholstered articles and other articles which are stuffed or lined,
or for purposes connected therewith.
No contraventions were found under this Act during 1958.
Rivers, Streams and Lakes.
Since 1950, the Kent Rivers Board have been responsible for
the supervision of the two rivers in this area, i.e. the Cray and the
Kydbrook.
