Pig food is collected from the communal street bins on alternate
days, and from food shops and canteens, etc., daily, and is
delivered to a pig keeper at the end of each day's collection.
During the year 1,025 tons of salvage of all kinds were sold
for £5,676, as compared with 920 tons for £4,899 in 1947.
