SWIMMING BATHS AND POOLS.
There is one public swimming bath in the District. One sample
of the water was examined during the year and found to be satisfactory.
There is also an open air swimming bath at the London Boys'
Scouts' Camping Ground, Bird House, Downe. Two samples of the
water were examined during the year with satisfactory results.
SMOKE ABATEMENT.
Informal action and the co-operation of factory managements
resulted in the abatement of intermittent smoke nuisances, and in no
case was it necessary to enforce legal requirements of the local byelaws
with respect to the emission of smoke.
