SWIMMING BATHS AND POOLS.
There is one public swimming bath in the District. One sample
of water was examined during the year and found to be satisfactory.
SMOKE ABATEMENT.
No action was found necessary in connection with the emission of
smoke.
The following number of houses were found to be infested with bed bugs during the year:—

Disinfestation has also been carried out by the Council in connection
with two hostels occupied by building operatives and also in
connection with one registered Common Lodging House.
Strict supervision is exercised with regard to possible infestations,
and advice given where necessary. In all cases where infestations are
found, the necessary action is taken.
Zaldecide insecticide is used for all premises infested.
