WELFARE FOODS
There was no change during the year in the genera] arrangements for the distribution
of welfare foods to mothers and young children. The figures of issues show a
further decrease whichis national as well as local.
During the year the Minister called attention for the need to encourage expectant
mothers to take up their welfare foods tokens early in pregnancy. In accordance with
the Ministers suggestions copies of the Ministry's leaflet "Maternity Care" were made
more generally available at clinics and midwives premises.
