Educationally Subnormal.
12 boys and 6 girls were ascertained as educationally subnormal and
1 boy was recommended for transfer from Harrow Green to a residential
school. On 31st December 5 boys and 4 girls were at residential schools.
Maladjusted.
4 boys and 2 girls were recommended for admission to residential
schools. On 31st December 8 boys and 4 girls were at residential schools.
1 boy was awaiting admission.
Deaf Pupils.
No child was newly ascertained in 1956 and at 31st December 3
boys were attending residential schools and 1 girl and 2 boys were at a
special day school.
Partially Deaf.
1 boy as ascertained as partially deaf and recommended to
attend a day special school. There were 2 boys at a day special school
and 1 girl at a residential school at the end of the year. 7 boys and 2
girls were ascertained as partially deaf and recommended to remain in
ordinary schools with special treatment.
Blind.
1 boy was so ascertained in 1956. 2 boys were at residential schools.
Partially Sighted.
2 boys were ascertained in 1956 and recommended to stay at an
ordinary school with special treatment. 1 boy was attending a day
special school in the year.
