Shops where milk is sold only in the unopened containers in
which it is received are registered as distributors, and nine such
registrations were approved during the year. Details of premises
registered under these regulations are :

One hundred and seventy-nine visits were made to premises
dealing in milk, and of the 38 samples submitted for chemical
analysis, all complied with the Sale of Milk Regulations, which
provide (subject to certain exceptions) that milk shall contain not
less than 3 per cent, milk fat and 8.5 per cent, milk solids other than
milk fat.
