NATIONAL ASSISTANCE ACT, 1948.
Section 47—Removal to suitable premises of persons in need of
care and attention.
No cases were dealt with under this section during the year.
Section 50—Burial and Cremation of the Dead.
During the year arrangements were made for the carrying out
of 13 burials under this Section.
PUBLIC MORTUARY.
The arrangement entered into between the Council and the
Hospital Management Committee (Leytonstone No. 10 Hospital
Group) in September, 1949, for the provision of public mortuary
facilties at Whipps Cross Hospital mortuary has continued during
the year.

Number of Post-mortem examinations performed | 61 |
In 49 instances no inquest was considered necessary in view
of the post-mortem findings that death was due to natural causes.
