It is among the expectant and nursing mothers that the need
for the services of our Oral Hygienist is greatest. She is also able,
when rendering this service, to interest them in matters of oral
hygiene and answer questions concerning the care of their children's
teeth. This is a service which has been very much appreciated
and, inasmuch as it is educational, is of greater value in increasing
the demand rate for treatment.
The amount and nature of work done for these patients is
shown in the table of figures appended.
There is an increase in the number of patients of all classes
treated under this heading and a consequent increase in the amount
of work done.
Due to a carry-over from December, 1950, more patients
were treated than were referred to the department during the year.
