and require from bodies applying for registration proof in regard
to these points:—
(а) That they have a system of education conforming to the
standards laid down, with a curriculum covering a period
of not less than two academic years;
(б) That their system of examination is adequate ;
(c) That their standards of ethics and discipline would ensure
on the part of their members conformity with the regulations
laid down as to the field of Chiropody.
In my opinion these conditions are perfectly reasonable, and
do not prejudice in any way persons who are prepared to undertake
that amount of training which is considered to be the essential
minimum to ensure that the public may have confidence in the ability
of practitioners.
Any Society or body of Chropodists who can prove to the satisfaction
of the Board of Registration that these standards have
been their rule and practice are eligible to apply for recognition,
and the Board are prepared to carry out the necessary inspection.
Bodies outside the Register are in that position because of their
refusal to adopt the regulations deemed necessary by the Board for
the protection of the public.
