Ministry of Health Certificate in Oral Hygiene, commenced duty
on 15th May, 1951. Since that time, under the direction of the
Area Dental Officer, Miss Watts has been occupied with dental
scaling and cleaning, and with hygiene instruction to patients
attending the dental clinics. A certain amount of topical application
of fluorine to the teeth of the sound mouths of the school entrant
group has also been carried out.
Nursing.
During the year two members of the health visiting staff,
viz., Miss J. Haining and Miss K. Greene, resigned to take up
appointments in other areas. Miss M. Murray commenced duty
in February; and Miss B. King, formerly a tuberculosis visitor in
the area, resumed duty in September, 1951, after having successfully
passed the Health Visitors' examination.
Mrs. I. E. Tate, a midwife employed in the Area, resigned
her appointment as from the 30th September, 1951. Having regard
to the fall in the birth rate and the number of domiciliary confinements,
the Health Area Sub-committee adopted my recommendation
that the position be not filled at the present time.

administrative and clerical staffs (excluding clinic clerks) recommended
by Leyton Health Area Sub-committee:—

appointments were made as follows:—
