Post-Natal Clinic.
Under the provisions of the National Health Service Act,
1946, arrangements are made for the post-natal examination of
all women who have been confined six weeks previously. Women
who have been confined in hospital have the post-natal examination
in the hospital; those who have booked a general medical practitioner
have the examination at home ; only women who have
had a midwife have to attend local health authority post-natal
clinics.
In June the Committee sanctioned the commencement of a
post-natal clinic to be held at the Essex County Training Home
once a month. In November the number of sessions was increased
to two per month.
The usual two sessions per month have been held throughout
the year at Leyton Green Health Centre.
The following is a summary of the work carried out :—
Number of Sessions 35
Letters of Invitation 494

within the previous three months); and 57 were gynaecological.
