PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER
INFECTIOUS AND OTHER DISEASES.
SMALLPOX.
During the year no case of smallpox occurred in the area.
Vaccinal State of Children examined at Routine
Medical Inspection.
All vaccination against smallpox is compulsory under the
provisions of the Vaccination Acts; it has been realised for some
time that a relatively small proportion of children are now being vaccinated.

The following figures show the vaccinal state of children who have been examined at routine medical inspections during the last six years.

ENTERIC FEVER.
During the year two cases of enteric fever occurred in the area.
CEREBRO-SPINAL MENINGITIS.
3 cases were notified during the year.
MEASLES.
439 cases of measles were notified during the year.
WHOOPING COUGH.
155 cases of whooping cough were notified during the year.
