INFANT WELFARE.
Notification of Births.—Two thousand one hundred and
fifty-seven notifications of births were received during the year.
By medical practitioners 498
By midwives 1,659
By parents and others -
During the year under review, the total attendances at the
Council's Infant Welfare Centres were 17,915, an increase of 4,340
compared with the figure (13,575) for the previous year. The
number of children examined by the Clinic Medical Officers was
4,438 as compared with 4,254 examined during the previous year.
Health Visitors.
During the year the Health Visitors have made 11,690 visits
to homes, as follows:—
(а) To expectant mothers:—

(b) To children under 1 year of age:—

(c) To children between the ages of 1 and 5
