Treatment of Sewers:—The manholes were baited in
accordance with instructions of the Ministry of Food, who state
that whilst there has undoubtedly been a substantial kill there is
probably a considerable residual population of rats in the sewers
and that it is desirable that further treatment should be carried
out in conjunction with block control schemes for dealing with
surface infestation and suggesting that the Council should employ
at least four full-time operatives as soon as possible. This matter
was under consideration by the Council at the end of the year.
