PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY DEFECTIVE CHILDREN.
Mentally Defective Children.
Statutory Medical Examinations.
During the year, some 84 children were referred for statutory
medical examination.
As the result of examination these 84 children were classified
as follows:—
Idiots 1
Imbeciles 3
On attaining 16 years of age—for supervision under
the M.D. (Notification of Children) Regulations 5
Certified to Local Education Authority as feebleminded

Remained under certificate 4
Certificate withdrawn 2
Dull and backward 15
Borderline cases—to be re-assessed in six months 9
Cases under certifying age 4
Behaviour problems:—
With average intelligence 21
