Fees paid to Doctors under Section 14 (1) of the Midwives' Acts,
1918.
Two hundred and forty-four accounts were received from
general medical practitioners for assistance rendered to midwives
under the provisions of this section. The total amount paid to
medical practitioners during the year was £415 4s. 6d.
The following figures show in statistical form the attendances during 1943:—

During the year 14 sessions of the Post-Natal and Gynaecological
Clinic were held. The number of new patients who attended
was 117, out of 164 who received appointments to attend (= 71.34
per cent.). Of these, 105 were post-natal (i.e., they had had a
confinement within the previous three months); and 12 were
gynaecological.
The disposal of these cases was as follows

The total number of attendances was 201. The average
attendance per session was 14.35—with a maximum of 24 and
a minimum of 7.
Free medical prescriptions were issued in 35 cases at a total
cost of £6 12s. 4d.; and 11 prescriptions were issued for payment
by the patients.
