SCHOOL MEDICAL SERVICE.
GOVERNMENT EVACUATION SCHEME.
Assuming a continuing decline in the school roll, an approximate roll as at 31st March, 1942, would be 11,900. Estimated figures showing the present distribution (December, 1942) of these children are given below:—

Normal (full-time) schooling, which was resumed in the Borough
on 15th July, 1940, has been maintained since that time.

Of 3,010 children who were examined in the code age-groups
2,563 (or over 85 per cent.) were accompanicd by their parents.

Special Inspections.
The number of special inspections during the year was 3,827
comparing with 3,032 during the previous year.
Re-inspections.
The number of re-inspections during 1942 was 6,572.
