Dental Treatment.
Report by Senior Dental Surgeon (Mr. A. E. Hall).
I am pleased to be able to record good attendances at the
dental sessions held for expectant mothers and children under
school age.
The biggest increase in work being the number of dentures
supplied to mothers, a total of 26 dentures being supplied to 26
mothers, the largest number ever recorded here. The need for
these dentures being inversely proportional to the soundness of the
patients natural teeth, I would like to be able to record that " no
dentures were supplied as none were needed." Dentures are
required however even amongst patients who have had regular
dental inspections and treatment in school, partly due to the fact
that with few exceptions no provision is made to continue treatment
after the child leaves school, a deficiency we all hope to see remedied
by a more comprehensive public dental service after the war.
The attached table gives some idea of the work carried out under this heading :—
