Public Health Act, 1936. Child Life Protection.
On 1st January, 17 foster mothers and 18 children—and at
the end of the year 13 foster mothers and 14 children—were subject
to inspection.

The Council's Child Protection Visitors made 76 visits oi inspection during the year.

Attendances .-During 1941, the attendances were :-

The average number in attendance at the Ante-Natal Clinics
held at the Council's two Centres during 1941 was 8.66 per session.
The number of home visits made by Health Visitors to
expectant mothers during the year was 164.
Maternity Beds.
One hundred and eight patients were admitted during 1941
under the terms of the agreement with the Mothers' Hospital,
Clapton.

There are three registered nursing homes in the Borough.
These institutions were inspected on 8 occasions.
