Admission to Hospital and Operations.

During the year four children were admitted to hospital and the following surgical operations were performed.

1. Reduction—Upper epiphysis femur. Plaster of Paris applied1
2. Reduction—Head of radius. Plaster of Paris applied1
3. Removal—Left cervical rib1
4. Removal—Exostosis foot, R1

Surgical Appliances.

The following have been supplied:—

Caliper splint (leg)1
Surgical boots1 pair
Wedges, valgus pads, stiffening boots2 pairs
Minor alterations to ordinary boots124 pairs
Alterations and repairs to surgical boots, splints and appliances4
Genu valgum brace, R. and L. Tunnels and wedges to boots1 pair

ARTIFICIAL SUNLIGHT CLINIC.
The administration of ultra violet light treatment was performed
by the Authority's Masseuse (Miss A. E. Findlay) under the
supervision of Dr. Henderson and his successor, Dr. Rennie (Deputy
School Medical Officer).

Of these 80 (84 per cent.) had either improved or were cured, 14 (15 per cent.) derived no benefit from treatment and 1 (1 per cent.) was worse.
