During the year 7 cases of ophthalmia occurred within the
area and were duly notified to the Medical Officer of Health.
In addition, later information was received regarding one infant
of a Leyton mother who developed ophthalmia in an institution
outside this area and was notified to the Medical Officer of Health
of the area in which it occurred, viz, :—

In December, 1930, this Maternity and Child Welfare Authority
entered into an arrangement with the London County Council for
the admission of Leyton cases requiring special institutional treatment
to St. Margaret's Hospital.
As from the 1st October, 1933, the rate of charge by the
London County Council for the maintenance of patients in St.
Margaret's Hospital was reduced from £4 2s. 4d. to £3 14s. 8d.
per patient per week.
