6. That payment of fees to dental practitioners be conditional on the
quality and fitting of the dentures being approved by the Council's Dental
Surgeon.
7. That, when the provision of dentures is recommended, patients
be required to fill up and sign a form giving particulars of the financial
circumstances of the family. That, before the work is put in hand, the
patient be informed of the contribution which she will be required to make
towards the cost of the dentures; and that the patient and husband be
required to sign an undertaking to pay the sum assessed.
8. That the amount of such contributions be regulated by the follow
ing scale of family income :—

9. That this scheme shall not apply to women who are entitled to
benefit under the National Health Insurance (Dental Benefit) Regulations,
and that H.S.A. vouchers be not accepted by the Council in respect of treatment
or dentures supplied.
Qualified dental practitioners resident in the area were given
the opportunity of stating whether they were prepared to undertake
